The Mountain Lion Cubs shown here were treed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff attempting to collar their mother as part of a regional study of Mountain Lion Behavior. They were unsuccessful in capturing the adult, but the cubs remained safe in this tree until that evening, when they came down, and along with their mother, devoured a mule deer carcass she had cached earlier. Thankfully, harmful interactions between humans and Mountain Lions are exceedingly rare in our region.
